queenstown, new zealand:

Firstly, I've gotta say, it feels so good to be back posting on international travel! Woo! There'll hopefully be a bit more of that this year. We're currently both working out our travel plans for the year, which is super exciting.

So we just back from a fabulous break in New Zealand, where we visited Andy's family for Christmas and managed to squeeze in a little bit of sightseeing. This was my ninth visit to NZ, and I've got to say, New Zealand just gets better and better with every visit (and the first visit is pretty mind-blowing!). We started our trip in Queenstown, staying in Wanaka with family, before working our way down to Dunedin, where most of Andy's family are based.

Situated on Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown and it's surrounds are blessed with epic scenery. We spent a couple of days just hanging out and exploring, lunching at Amisfield Winery and enjoying the fact we were on holiday after a very busy year. Being a bit of travel planning tragic however, I made sure we saw as much as we could in those few days before Christmas!

Next: Fiordland and Milford Sound

  1. 9th trip?! Lucky lady to have married a man from New Zealand. The scenery is beautiful, but I must admit the food is what really caught my eye. Looks deeelicious. Happy New Year to you and Andrew!
