Pula is the largest town on the Istrian coast and is also quite industrial when compared to the smaller towns we had previously visited, having a working port.
However, it is definitely worth a visit with some amazing ancient Roman sites and gorgeous beaches nearby.
After wandering around the town centre and visiting the famous colosseum, we ventured further south to Kamenjak National Park, where we stumbled across more pristine beaches and swimming spots!
We adored our time spent in Istria and Croatia and would visit again in a heartbeat. We're definitely keen to head south and explore the famed Dalmatian coast, but would also love to return to Istria and base ourselves in Rovinj again. One day soon, hopefully!
next: on to Venice!
