the simien mountains, ethiopia - part 3:

Our third day of trekking was probably the hardest, yet most rewarding as we made it higher and higher. We climbed to the top of Imet Gogo where we had the best view of the entire trek, and then climbed higher again above 4000m for lunch, before slowly making our way down to our camp at Chennek. It was much quieter here as most trekkers had finished at Gich camp, so we practically had the place to ourselves, surrounded by beautiful views and an abundance of wildlife.

Overall, our Simien trek was really stunning and highlight of our Ethiopian trip. The landscape was like nothing we had ever seen and a really unique experience. I definitely recommend checking the Simien national park out, whether it just be for a day or a multi-day trek.

next: historical Lalibela.
